Rehabilitation

Work One

Rehabilitation is the act of restoring something to its original state. The noun rehabilitation comes from the Latin prefix re-, meaning “again” and habitare, meaning “make fit.” When something falls into disrepair and needs to be restored to a better condition, it needs rehabilitation. People seek rehabilitation after an accident or surgery to restore their strength, or to learn to live without drugs or other addictive substances or behaviours (www.vocabulary.com).

Rehabilitation is usually seen either in the medical context after an injury or surgery or in the context of addiction to alcohol or other substances. However, the larger aspect of rehabilitation is in the area of the mind and behaviours. We focus on these factors primarily. We seek to help an individual integrate their own self so they can live an even more livelier life; seek to help couples and families to integrate effectively so they can live like before or even better; the same goes for groups / teams. This is also seen in the lives of those wanting to live sober by helping them integrate into their families, community and the larger society. This is what rehabilitation done for one or for many.
